TADLOP NEWLETTER

July 2007

Well it’s finally arrived your TADLOP Newsletter. Sorry it is late but I have been rather busy getting into my new job!

We have moved on a long way since ‘Titanic’ but wherever I go people still comment on the production and how impressed they were. We have set a high standard for ourselves but we can always look to produce something new and different. The Scarlet Pimpernel is already beginning to generate interest and so it should; another Shropshire Premier!  We will be getting started on it soon first but lets look at what has been happening recently.

The following members were elected at the AGM held at the Red Lion Wellington on Wednesday 30th May

·     President - Eve Cooper

·     Chairman - Glennis Mansell

·     Vice Chairman - Lynn Hunt-Craib

·     Secretary - Carol Sharp

·     Business manager - Keith Ellis

·     Ticket Secretary - Jo Matkin

·     Treasurer - Dilys Williams

·     Membership Secretary - Frances Cruddas General Members

·     Publicity role - Adrian Cooper

·     Tony Sharp

·     Liz Law

·     Alistair Craib

Welcome to those newly elected members and thanks in advance for the contributions you are making to the society. We are currently working on improving our procedures as these days running a society as large as ours is a business and you can appreciate how much work is involved in that.

The concert is at last beginning to take shape and the quality of the singing is excellent. We have attracted some new members recently. Welcome to; David Venus, Michael Sadler, Sarah Barnes, Nancy Beattie, Kay Little, Hannah Littlehales-Bowdler and Carol Sharp. They are already actively involved in the society or the concert, which will take place on 17th and 18th August at the Maws Craft Centre Jackfield, Telford, 7.30pm. The tickets cost a mere £5 and a £2.50 reduced fee applies to all concessions (i.e. over 60) as well as students & under 14’s.under. There is a BAR! If the music is too bad you can always turn to drink! No seriously, there is some excellent singing and providing the weather is kind to us it will be a lovely evening. Steve Roberts is giving a short recital on piano and then Julie Dipple is going to join him in a duet! Also congratulations to Julie on her recent engagement!
